How our estimates work
In plain words: we collect recent public sale results for similar cars (same make, model, generation, and where possible, similar year, mileage, and features). We adjust for differences we can detect, then compare that estimated value with the current asking price or bid. The difference is shown as estimated "upside." This method cannot see everything that affects value, such as condition, originality, paperwork, accident history, rust, modifications, color, provenance, or the details a seller leaves out.
Estimates only
Estimated values and upside are opinions, not appraisals, and can be significantly wrong. They are not an offer to buy, a guarantee of resale value, or financial or investment advice.
Past sales do not guarantee future value
Collector car values rise and fall with the economy, trends, interest rates, and buyer demand. Past sale prices and price trends do not guarantee what any car will be worth in the future. You could lose money.
Auction bids change
Auction bids shown are a snapshot at the time of the alert. Bids usually rise sharply near the end of an auction, so the estimated upside shrinks or disappears as bidding goes up. Reserves, buyer's premiums, and fees also affect the true cost.
No affiliation
Shaguar is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any listing or auction site (such as Bring a Trailer, eBay, PCarMarket, Elferspot, or classic.com) or any car manufacturer (such as Jaguar, Jaguar Land Rover, Porsche, Toyota, Ford, or Chevrolet). All trademarks, brand names, and model names belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify vehicles.
Do your homework
Always verify the vehicle, title, and history, and get an independent pre-purchase inspection before you buy. See our Terms of Use for more.
